Daniel stands just under six feet, making him tall but not too tall. He has dark blue eyes and longer brown hair, not long but not too short either. Just long enough that it has a tendency to fall into his eyes. He's a little bit scruffy, with slight scruff here or there, but nothing too bad. He has some color from being in the sun, but for the most part he's pretty pale, being not originally from the south. His hair as a dark chestnut color as well. He has multiple scars on his body from when he was a child. He tends to wear blazers and dark colors, though this is not always so. He has a bit of a classic style.

Despite all Daniel has been though, or perhaps because of it, Daniel is a very happy person. When he came to the South, he discovered that he had a talent for teaching students, one that was encouraged, and now he is very skilled at what he does. His other hobby is that of solving mysteries…just call him the new Sherlock Holmes. He is very humble aka he’s not a self centered fool. He loves to make other people feel better and is usually very chivalrous. His downfall is that he cant tell when he’s being flirted with and flirts back…then gets confused about what the hell just happened.

He runs to keep in shape and also for Juno’s sake, the pup needs exercise. He doesn’t judge people by anything…he really just doesn’t care about that stuff. He goes to class to learn and is quick witted and always is looking for something new to learn. He is able to do things such as sports, but will not fight

All in all, he's a bit oblivious to most things. But he's also a sweet guy who will happily listen to your problems if you need a listening ear. He likes to teach other people, and he likes kids as well.

HISTORY •

Danica Drakos and Dorian Bastet were two apothecarians who, by common interest, ended up settling down together. Did they love each other? More than a yes is required for this answer. But it was more that they were friends, with such a deep friendship that it could easily be mistaken one way or the other. It was a wild two year fling, filled with love, craziness and work. It soon became clear, however, that the two of them were not meant for each other. It had become more of a friends with benefits relationship and it was easy to see why. Danica was bubbly and often her mind was on science more then anything else, she was a woman ruled by her emotions and her curiosity about the world. As a contrast, Dorian was more serious and focused, if extremely absent minded at times. It was a mutual agreement when they two separated and went on their separate paths.

Two weeks later, Danica discovered herself pregnant. Not wanting to worry Dorian being that they had just split as well as not wanting to worry the man she had just settled down with in a serious relationship, she kept it to herself. She raised the baby, Daniel, as the son of her new boyfriend and future husband, Frank. Neither Daniel or Frank were aware that he was not his son.

It was when Daniel was six that things went wrong. He was with Danica in town he was taken away from Frank when they were waiting outside of a store for Danica. A struggle ensued and the injuries Frank endured from this struggle ultimately caused his passing. He was shot because he tried to keep the boy he thought was his son from being taken from him. Along with four or five other children all six or younger, Daniel was kidnapped. They were taken by a delusional man for nothing more then their beauty and no demands were ever made. The children just appeared to fall off of the face of the earth. The man, forcing the children to call him “Father” forms a dysfunctional family of sorts with the children who are too scared to do anything about it. Daniel becomes the caretaker for the other children, being that he is the oldest. He often takes the blows meant for the younger children when the kidnapper goes mad and goes into a rage. This caused the many scars he covers now with his affinity. The man that kidnapped them was delusional, thinking these children were really his, but he was also smart.

Smart? Of course he’s smart. It took eight years for law enforcers to track down the psycho path and even then they were never able to touch the man, never being able to get close enough to do it when they were so restrained by the law. It was the Contra El Mal that actually managed to finally get in there and get the poor kids out and away from the psychopath that took him, not being afraid to shoot when it looked like he wouldn’t simply give up even though he was outnumbered.

In these 8 years however, much has changed. Frank has died and Danica appeared to have passes as well due to heartbreak, though not much is reported on her death. So, with the people of the town eating it up, Daniel gets sent to a foster home. Hating the attention, he lashes out and is very withdrawn inside himself. Its hard to see that he is anything other then an empty shell during this time.

He is bounced around from home to home until one finally comes around that is actually ready for the challenge. He settles down with the Bastets. He finally comes out of his shell, due to his foster mother Mara’s kind and caring attitude and the way she doesn’t push him as well as his foster sister Ree’s crazy happiness and the way she’s always pushing him to have fun with her. Add that to his foster father Dorian’s encouragement and always being there to simply talk to him and Daniel comes to life again. He comes to be very protective of Ree who, due to her wild streak, often gets herself into trouble and actually finds himself falling in love with her despite all odds, though she is oblivious to it. Dorian encourages his quick mind and Daniel takes to solving mysteries, wanting to become a brilliant detective or sheriff so that he can make sure no one else will ever have to go through what he did.

It is then that he longs for his mother, who he only faintly remembers. He wants, at the very least, to be able to visit her grave. Dorian is surprised to learn that Pride’s mother is his own flame and agrees to help him track her down, saddened by her passing and wanting to pay his respects at least. They seek to find out and, through months of tracking, discover that she is, indeed, very much alive. She had faked her own death to get away from the media attentions and was living in a secluded area to hide away. She is ecstatic to see Daniel once more, though is surprised to see him with Dorian. She assumes that they both already know her secret and who Daniel’s true father is and is forced to tell them when she realizes they do not.

Daniel finally gets to slowly manage to find himself again, knowing who his parents are helped with that. But he wanted to be himself, he wanted to make a life for himself which he felt he hadn’t been allowed to do. And also now knowing that Ree, who he had actually managed to love more than a little, was his half sister made it slightly hard for him to be around his house. And he was eighteen at that point. So he got a job teaching because it was what was open at the time, and soon found out that he loved it. The abilty to teach others, and he did adore children, it didn’t hurt that his own little brother Adrian—whom he adored—was in his class. He ate it all up and it allowed him to move forward, forget the past a day at a time and move forward. And that is what he is still doing today.
